What will using my 2 ohm switch on my head into an 8 ohm cab do? A 4 ohm cab? Thank you and sorry if this was asked before

I've been looking through heads recently and was wondering which is the loudest (but not bad sounding) for an 8ohm 4x10 (400W) cab. thats in a decent price range ($400 max probably) thanks guys!

I've read a bunch of reviews that say the Goldline head craps out between 6-14 months.

Oh man I didn't know that. So I'm pretty much screwed at getting a lot of wattage out of 8 ohms without breaking my little bank?

What about putting the firebass on 475w @ 4ohms. Thats not the bad kind of ohm mismatch and thats only putting about 18.75 watts extra on each speaker if I'm not mistaken. And what I've been getting from this forum is that putting extra wattage into the speakers is actually kind of a good thing...

I've read up on this thing and I'm really considering it. I was looking at the Firebass head too and I actually like that better. Would running the firebass head with the 8ohm 400w RMS/800w Program GLX cab be safe?

Hey, my bassist and I are pretty much amp noobs. We picked up a GK GLX 4x10 cab yesterday because it was pretty much a steal. Now we're looking for a 400w head for it. We're pretty broke so we're looking for the best bang for our buck. Any help guys? Thanks
