Ok guys I played with the other guitarists and I could barely hear myself. My gain and volume were at 2:30. This doesn't seem right. My speakon cable has a 1/4" jack on the cab end, would that affect the wattage? Also could my preamp tubes need replacing? Where am I losing the power?

Eq is mostly flat with boosts at 33Hz 80Hz then at 8kHz. Gain is between 2 and 3 o clock and so is the master. Gain is dialed back just before led peak comes on. Bass mids an treb are all around noon.

By now ive read enough threads that i realize it's just the name of the game. I must admit i was playing without the other guitarists so i had nothing to compare volumes to. I'm sure when I slap some new strings on my geddy I'll be much more satisfied. I'll post after Thursdays practice.

What about Dual Mono into the 810? Good? Bad? Dumb? I played out of the 810e and i just didn't get the power i expected. I have the correctly wired speakon cable for bridged/mono. I could get the power but not without it sounding like it was stretching its capabilities.

I'm just really nervous because I blew not only my carvin v115t out but also my v410t cabs. They were rated at 400w @ 8ohms but I was running the amp mono. I don't care about blowing those cabs because I got them for free. I just bought an svt 810e. Any tips on "breaking it in"? My humble guess...

Hahaha I'm up against two Marshall heads through two mesa cabs so I need every bit of power. Thanks for the input guys. I found a great deal on a Goliath 410 but I'm willing to pay more if ampeg is the way to go...

Thanks guys. One more thing. Are all 810s the same as far as impedance? Just want to know what to look for since I'll be shopping the old Craigslist.
