Thanks! Maybe it was the strings, it was a set of GHS 3020's. Terrible strings for this Electromatic in my experience. I will try another set of flat wounds some day. Right now I'm happy with the small gauge roundwounds! Your 1222 rocks by the looks of it! :)

I totally agree to your statement. i replaced the standard pickups from my MIM jazz and they blew me away. Maybe you can say that everything is better than the standard MIM pickups, but these Toneriders are very diverse in tone. From Jaco sounds all the way up to P-Bass simulating sounds.

Get some Klotz Stevens Funkmaster's if you ask me. My ears are very happy with it.

Check out the pickups if you have the chance. I own a MIM Jazz Bass wich I love but it had ceramic pickups out of the factory. They have more "high" in them compared to old skool wired ones and high isn't the tone you are looking for in a bass. Well at least I don't ;) (finding the right pickups...
