    Thanks for your input. I would of course like to use an Elixer string, only they don't go that big. I'll check out the Warwick string you mention. I use Mesa Boogie Powerhouse 1000 and 2x10. Have tried the Schroeder BMF 2x15 and don't think it'll reproduce a pleasing sound at those frequencys...

    Would a Peavey Grind Bass 4 BXP NTB Neck-thru-body design, mahogany neck with maple stringers, Imbuya wings, passive humbucking pickups, 24 frets, 35" scale qualify? It's got less than 20 hours playing time on it.
