Ibanez GSR200SM. 4-string. Mohagany body, splated ash veneer. All stock electronics, but I'm designing my own EQ. Korg pitch hawk G2 clip-on tuner, Dunlop strap locks with a Perri's cushioned leather strap. GHS boomer heavy gauge strings. Simple but awesome!

    Hi there!

Hi all! I've actually been registered here for over a year, and I've posted some messages, but I've never formally introduced myself. My name is Joe. I've been playing bass for about a year and a half, but I've been playing music for nearly 20 years now. I went to college on a scholarship for...

    Cat peed in my Amp

Are you sure it's actually cat pee? This sounds weird, but faulty or damaged capacitors smell like cat pee, and if the electrolyte has leaked, it can look like it too. Or it could be cat pee. I'd look for any blown or damaged capacitors first.

New bass player-but not to music

Wow. Thanks for all the quick replies! Looks like there's a lot more out there than I came across. Fortunately I can read guitar tab, so I won't have to learn that either (although, personally, I really don't like it, I'd much rather just read music regularly). Thanks again for all of the advice!

New bass player-but not to music

Hi all, My brother is a luthier and as a birthday present, he found a Dean bass (don't know where), replaced the fretboard, nut, and pickups, and did a general tune-up and gave it to me as a birthday present knowing I've always wanted to play bass. Things get a bit more complicated from here. I...
