I played with mica dust for a while too. I never found that perfect look. But it’s fun and I learned some stuff. Watch out for tiny bubbles getting trapped in the stone fragments. It can make it kind of hazy. I found System 3 Silvertip releases trapped air pretty well.

This is the squeegee I use: Ettore-11112-Original-Squeegee-12 From Amazon or Home Depot. It’s too long as is, but I cut mine down to 4” which works really well on a curvy guitar. It comes apart so you can change the rubber blade every now and then. Clean it really well when you are done...

This guy! I follow his procedure to the letter with great results. The rubber squeegee is the key. He uses Z-Poxy, but I prefer West System 105/207 or System 3 Silvertip.
