    Aguilar comparison DB359, DB750, DB680 & TH500

Just did a soundcheck at an outdoor festival in Louisville, KY (5000 capacity) with the the TH500. Absolutely awesome. My setup is: 76 p bass with roundwounds DB410 And I have been using a gb shuttle 6.0 for the head (I have db751 on order so using the genz Benz in the meantime)...

    Ampeg SVT-410HLF Farting Out

I couldn't recommend the DB410 highly enough. It has that deep focused almost ampeg-like sound... Maybe smoother and less grindy though. The hand-built quality and power handling are amazing. Plus it looks great.

    Ampeg SVT-410HLF Farting Out

Bought a sweet Aguilar DB410 in black. Problem solved.

    Ampeg Pro Neo Series

Any thoughts on running one of these with an SVT-CL?

    Ampeg SVT-410HLF Farting Out

Sound like my experience exactly. Too bad because a lot of people rave about these. I too love an ampeg 810 though... It doesn't get better than that!

    Ampeg SVT-410HLF Farting Out

I left it with my tech for 3 weeks and he didn't find anything...so I don't think it's anything obvious. The only solution he offered was to replace the speakers. He checked wiring, phase, magnets etc. Maybe he missed a small crease or maybe the speakers are just poor quality.

    Ampeg SVT-410HLF Farting Out

That sounds like exactly what my problem is. I think I just got a bad one. At low volumes it sounds pretty nice... But turn it up and it's basically unusable.

    Ampeg SVT-410HLF Farting Out

I can recreate the problem with a different head so I don't think it's the head.

    Ampeg SVT-410HLF Farting Out

It's not the bass, I've played it through so many different amps and I've NEVER had the same problem. I think it's something with the cabinet or maybe this particular run of ampeg cabs... I know they switch speakers in the same model as the years go by. Thing is I've played other svt-cl and...

    Ampeg SVT-410HLF Farting Out

It happens on the surrounding notes too, but not quite as much. Spoke to the tech again today he thinks te speakers are just underpowered for the head. I could spend $ replacing the speakers but I'd rather just buy a better cab. I do like the ampeg vibe though. Not a fan of Eden or epifani at...

    Ampeg SVT-410HLF Farting Out

It's not the room. This happened every night in every room on a national tour. It's also not the bass... I've played 100s of gigs with that bass for the last 5years and never had that problem. I will say that it also happens on the "c" on the A string but not as bad. The c on the e string is...

    Ampeg SVT-410HLF Farting Out

I'm playing a 70s p bass with round wounds. Volume and tone are rolled full up. Eq on the amp is straight up and down at noon... So "flat" as can be. The problem certainly lessens if I turn down the bass and the volume, but it seems like this cab should really be able to handle it. As for...

    Ampeg SVT-410HLF Farting Out

Has anyone else experienced awful "farting out" with the Ampeg 410HLF cabinet? I have an Ampeg SVT-CL (2005ish USA made) and play mostly with a 76 p bass with roundwounds. When I play a "C" on the E string I get a terrible farting sound. It's like the cabinet just can't handle the volume...

    Official Orange Club!

I'm looking into getting an all-orange rig. Right now my rig is an Ampeg SVT-CL and Ampeg 410HLF. This rig is only "ok" for me. Problems are too much boominess from the 410 HLF and the SVT head weighs so much (especially in a road case)!! I do really like an SVT with 810 but it's just too big...

American Vintage 1962 P Bass Reissue

Weird question about these basses: Is there any tonal difference in the colors that people have noticed? Ok, I know what you're thinking, what is he crazy? The color affecting the sound? Now here is my thought....does fender choose the better woods for the sunburst? Maybe the sunburst...
