Help wanted for restoring this Ibanez MC 824!

I ordered remakes of the pick-ups on Reverb (Greg's) They look the same and are supposed to have almost the same tonal qualities, are humbuckers, so they should be much more silent and less RF reception sensitive. I'll keep you posted on the progress

Thanks a lot! Another question about keeping RF out: I read it is good practice to glue copper tape to the inside of the routed housing of the pick-ups. Should that copper tape be grounded too?

Thanks! As I read the schematics correctly, There seems to be a strange effect when the switch is set to 'both' and one of the volume pots are dialed to zero, then the other pickup will be shorted to ground too, and no signal will come thru. Is that correct??

Thanks! I'd like to join :) Couple of questions: - how should I maintain the fretboard? It is very dull/dry at this moment - are there any schematics of the electronics? I believe it should be a VVT config

    Ibanez Musician Bass Club

Hello all, I bought this beauty yesterday. I read a lot of reviews of it and was determined to get it. I believe its a MC824 from 1980. On the head stock is a stamp saying G808423. but it does not sound great (yet). They have been messing with the electronics and One pick-up is not original...

Help wanted for restoring this Ibanez MC 824!

The current schematics is this. What I find peculiar is that the tone only works on the active pick-up coil. The switch is used to select the passive pick-up Or active pick-up OR both pick-ups in parallel

Sennheiser EW D Wireless quick review

I just bought the EW Dp unit and all is fine, except for the usb power. I have the unit plugged in the usb port of a charger, but when I power on, the ew dp is not seeing that usb charge. I have to manually unplug the usb, wait a few seconds and plug it in again. I run it with the battery pack...

Sennheiser new portable wireless EW-DP receiver - suitable for pedalboard/bass use?

I own and use a NuX c 5RC (5ghz band). We are using it at every rehearsal and gig, and we are recording everything. The sound is fine, range is fine, but I hear small drop.out spikes every song at least once per 5 minutes. Spikes are also visible on the recordings as very short moments of...

Bass cab dual use filtering question

This was in reaction to your post. You were talking about alignment around the crossover frequencies, but the passive filter crossover frequency is nowhere near the active crossover point. So I did not understand your post :)

Bass cab dual use filtering question

ehm... but I dont think the filter corner won't be reached, because i use active filtering at 125 Hz... Perhaps I don't understand your comment?

Bass cab dual use filtering question

So if I understand correctly, you mean the restance of the coil of the filter? that is very low, so probably not measurable.

Bass cab dual use filtering question

So i dont need the filters in 2 of the subs in that situation, but my question was if there are negativr consequences phase/tone wise if I just leave the filters in use (in two of the fearfuls)
