    Carvin head/cab ugh!

Ya, I took it to a tube guy who said he couldn't find out what was wrong. That was usually the case, it would act up when no one was around and be fine other times...

    Learn Theory

chord construction is theory as they are alignments of scales. It's not so much photographic memory, more like muscle memory. Also, you can hear the frequency. Whenever I learn basslines to songs, I find out what key, chord, scale and theory that applies. It's a bit like 'cheating' once you...

    Carvin head/cab ugh!

Carvin bx500 was the head. The cab is not broken and working fine now with the behringer head. Do you think it can malfunction like that without breaking the cab?

    Acoustic Basses?

I perform at a lot of acoustic unplugged gigs and having an acoustic bass has really been a wonderful addition to the other acoustic instruments. I get tons of compliments on the sound quality. I bought a carlo robelli electric/acoustic for under $300 and another used for under $100. These are...

    Carvin head/cab ugh!

I kind of hate my Carvin head/cab. I bought it used from a friend. If I could go back and buy a different kind, I would build a time machine just for that one act. Anyone else have problems with theirs? What is your favorite kinds of heads/cabs?

    What's the point of fender?

True! I have turned a $75 used kids bass guitar into sounding like a million bucks with the right setup!

    What's the point of fender?

I personally don't get it either, but some of my favorite bassists and friends use and prefer the fender jazz or precision. Maybe because fender was the first major manufacturers of the electric bass guitar?

    Learn Theory

Learning theory helped me tremendously with my country band (especially learning what a major scale, blues scale, and pentatonic scale is, the 'country scale,' mixolydian mode and intervals). I can now do walking basslines, which I didn't really understand before. Theory helps with any kind of...
