I checked the battery with a multimeter, it's good. The Jack is fine. I'm scared that it's the preamp in the instrument.

I just did. I was surprised that the issue was mostly gone, unless I boosted the mids from the preamp. So if that's the case, why is my good amp exaggerating the clipping/distortion? I did have an issue with my amp a while back. It was making a windy sound, so I replaced the 3 preamp tubes...

Hey all, I could really use advice here. I bought a used lakland 55-02 (skyline) and it's clipping even at low volume. Playing through GK fusion head(500 watts) and a Mesa cab. I cantell you it's not the cord or the battery. I don't think it's the amp either, because my fender (passive) plays...
