    Good mini-compressors

I loved the Wampler Ego Mini I used to have, forget why I sold it. The Mini Ego 76 is presumably even better, though a bit above your price range. I have enough non-mini comps that I don't miss having a mini, and when you factor in the space-saving of top jacks vs. side, the size difference...

    Pedulla truss rod

Epilogue: Thanks kindly to @CoughSyrup, I tried the StewMac suggestion. Though more expensive at $30 compared to the (garbage) for $5-7 on Amazon, to say it was more than worth it is an understatement. "Buy once cry once", "You get what you pay for", yada yada and as soon as I got it out I could...

    Pedulla truss rod

Thanks very kindly to all for insights, positive and negative they're all useful. So chapter 2 - I ordered another one off Amazon that had a couple reviews "fits Pedulla bass!". It just came in, and appeared identical to the first (I'd bet a dollar it came out of the exact same ___ese factory)...

    Pedulla truss rod

Greetings TB'ers, Recentlly got a new-to-me Pedulla Rapture J5 , fantastic bass in every way but after changing strings to different brand/gauge, there was a bit of neck bow. I had known that 1) adjustment is backwards (clockwise for relief), and 2) the square nub requires an autoharp wrench...

NBD, Dont sleep on the Bill and Ted's local Pro

I would own one already if it had more than 20 frets - minimum for me is 21, prefer 22 or 24. Great looking instrument though, enjoy!

Aguilar Introduces the Tone Hammer 210 Combo

Looks interesting, almost like a modern version of SWR Workingman's combo. But why limit to 300 watts, rather than extend to 500 (or more) with extension cabinet - or unsure can one even be added?

Favorite colored sounding DI in 2026.

Great: Broughton Studio One (currently on board), love that it includes HPF/LPF. Gain knob determines amount of color. Better: Jad Freer Capo, terrific, deserving of the hype. Best: Lightstone Emperor - 3 tubes, 2 channels, as much (or little) lovely color as you want (one knob is called...

Help choosing pedal to add grit & thicken tone

I'll second the Edison Night Owl, and the Jive. I'll also add the Broughton Scorpion, easily obtainable and versatile, one of his best all-around "warming/fattening/thickening" pedals. I'd actually take it over the DCX Bass which I also have and like, the DCX can get grittier but not as thick...

A Tale of Two Circles: 112 or 115?

Not perfect comparison, but I had a Berg Ref 210, and had the same thought of "rounding out" the tone with a Berg Ref 112. Something about the pairing just didn't sit right, it was loud but the tone wasn't "gelling" into a cohesive whole. Sounded like a thicker 112 tone under a crisper punchier...

Sushibox FX - Finally v3 vs Neptunium

Hey, right now it's a Nemesis 210 combo. At "only" 200 watts it's my lowest powered amp, so will experiment further. But some other higher-gain pre's don't have this issue, I would consider offloading it but I'm liking the tone (and HPF) too much.

Sushibox FX - Finally v3 vs Neptunium

Hi Mr. Sushi! Yes it's a v3. I love the tone, but going into the effects return of my old (but great) Nemesis (from Eden) 210 combo, it's just a little shy. Turning up the level and/or gain enough adds a bit too much noise/hiss. I'll experiment with some of my higher power heads, and may...

Sushibox FX - Finally v3 vs Neptunium

Are you sending the 1/4" out of your Finally to your amp's front end, or effects return? When I go into the front, it's plenty loud (compounding my amp's preamp), but into the return it doesn't seem to have enough gain to push a strong signal unlike my other pre's into the return.
