And, in answer to your original question, you always have to adjust your bridge with a string gauge change. Drop when going to a lighter gauge, raise when going to a heavier gauge.

ElectoVoice used to make a 30” back in the 70’s. Back then I played through a Sunn Colosseum amp with 2 cabs with front loaded 18’s. Loud as hell, but great, clean tone through the solid state head. Great sound on stage, but blew the audience in the back out the door.
