You are right, I've confirmed that the 30.5" is short scale, so that makes my search easier. I've just got to decide if I want to try tapes or go with wound strings.

This is what I guess you would call a medium scale bass (30.5"). Is it ok to put long scale strings on a medium scale bass? Will it effect the tone or sound at all?

So now I think I should put some new strings on this Guild B30. There are some kind of wound strings on it now, I have no idea how old they are. Any suggestions?

Want to check out the Kala Ubass (acoustic/electric) and want to know where they're made? I see from Kala's site the electrics are made in Ca. but no mention of where the acoustics are made.
