    Music Man sound and pickups

Hi, I love the sound of the stingray especially with guys like Louis Johnson and Bernard Edwards playing them. I have a Stingray 5 which I bought in April 2000 and it sounded good but it didn't sound as good as I hoped. It was nearly there but it was more 'clunk' than 'funk'. So I made a bold...

    6 string options

Like the other guys I'd recommend the ibanez 6ers!! Great necks and amazing tone. I have Japanese Custom from the mid 90's, it's has EMG's and a Aguilar pre amp. Sounds amazing. I used to have a SR506 and that was a great instrument too!! Here's a pic. http://instagram.com/p/eNNNYjlkJW/

Little tiny nano sized Chorus petal recommendations?

I bought an Ensemble King a couple of weeks ago and I'm really happy with it. I've not noticed any bass loss but I tend to have the ratio low with the depth at about 12 o'clock which boosts the low end. It's a good sounding analogue chorus with true bypass and it's cheap too!! Win win!!

Do you own Steely Dan - Aja

This is just my humble opinion and what would I know, I'm just a bass player. I think It's awesome!! The songs are excellently arranged with so much space. The grooves feel like they're alive and breathing. One of my favourite albums, you don't hear that much genius (from everyone involved) on...

Need advice for a bass compressor

There's a Chinese company called Mooer who are a producing good quality compact pedal. I've just bought a yellow comp which looks and sounds like a copy of the diamond (I own the diamond too). In the UK it's just £59 so it sounds great and is cheap. Hope that helps!

How Often Do You Practice Unplugged?

I practice unplugged all the time, it's a great way to improve your natural tone. If the bass sounds nice unplugged it'll sound amazing when you plug it in.

Should I do bass covers on youtube?

I still say do it, I've seen some amazing musicians on YouTube and there's always someone who has a problem with it. Does it mean the musician isn't very good? No!! It just means the person who left the nasty comment is a nasty person. Also I think it would be a great practice tool, if you put a...
