Amp choice all depends on what "Practice" means. Are you just playing wiith music from your copmputer? Or are you just playing alone to learn new songs and increase skill level? You don't need much for those types of scenerios. Or, are you practicing with a band? Drummer, guitars, keyboards, PA...

Look into the Thread about the Master Effects Super 300 pedal. It does a great job of emulating an Ampeg Tube amp. I have one and use it whenever I want to dig in and get that tube grind. Peace

I've been using the White ScotchBrite pad on my Fender Necks with gloss finished for over 10 years now. It knocks down that stickiness just enough so those hot humid days don't make it difficult to go up and down the neck, and it doesn't really mar the finish. Peace, John

I like that you used a Jazz Bass neck on it. I have both a Jazz Bass and a Precision, and like the Jazz neck much better. Olympic White with the Tort pick guard is great looking too. Nice job. John

Never use someone else's amp. Just because of what happened to you. If it was your amp, what you do? Do the same in this situation and get yourself a practice amp. Just good logic. JJ

I have used the 3M White Scotchbrite pad very successfully on my Fender JazzBass and Precison Bass's with maple necks and high gloss finishes. It does just enough to keep my sweaty palm from sticking on those HHH days here in CT. John
