I use Rotosound flatwounds

Thank you for your input, seems like when I went to flats before the intonation needed to be set. I have a friend that made me a custom 5 string, I couldn't remember what I had done when I went to flats on my other basses, it has been a while.

is there anything that needs to be done setup wise to change from roundwound to flatwound strings (as in bridge setup)?

Paul it was the external fan that did not come on not the internal one.

the amp was overheating when I had the amp on the bottom of the rack. when I first bought it. having that empty space at the bottom seemed to alleviate that initially. I had already bought the fan before moving it up. It ran for a year before the gig that the fan did not turn on. I will look...

the amp has either crossover or full range settings

8 ohm cabs, cabled as each out from pre amp is going to one input on power amp. it is set to full range. Each output from amp is going to a 2-18 cab.

yes sir, it happened once that fan was not on at a gig, but it has done it a couple of times now at practice. And we have a gig coming up and trying to make it not happen again

I will verify that, but seems fan on the amp pulls air in from the back and extra fan does same. I will look into that though

I am having a dilemma with my rig, I am running an old Ampeg SVT2 pre-amp and a QSC GX5 500w per ch power amp. I also am running 2 2-18 cabs. It seems to have a problem overheating and shuts down. I have to shut it off for a bit and it will come back, but once it does it once it will do it all...
