That was enlighting. Thank you for your input. I'd got to say pass with the skins though. :D I can live with it. I am in fact in love with the bass with all its imperfection. It has become part of its/her character I should say.

Can it still be repaired without repainting?

No problem with the sound and playability. It is in fact the most versatile and comfy Fender bass that I've ever owned. It's just that I am a bit disappointed with the quality of work that they did with the body. Looks a bit like a Squier variant IMO.

I recently bought a Fender Jaguar CIJ. No issues whatsoever apart from aesthetics. Is it normal to have an uneven sunburst tone? The top part of the body is a lot brighter in color than the bottom.
