I just picked up a new Crown XLS 1000 for $168. Running it into a 210 and 115 (both 500 watt cabs at 8 ohms each) seems to have plenty of juice for anything I want to do. It rattles the whole building.

The crown website says nothing about a "new" XLS. I'm not too worried about the input voltage. I have plenty of opportunity to raise the gain in my signal in my chain.

Nephilymbass, my 410 is the OLD swr Goliath (made by eden), and think it is rated at 400 watts. My fear was that I could blow her with a 1500. We'll see if I miss the headroom.

Sweet! I was debating weather or not to upgrade to the 1500, but was thinking in bridged mode, that is plenty of power to run my 8-ohm 410 or the 210/115 stack. If that isn't enough for the clubs I play in, we're too damn loud!

I'm not too worried about getting to the input voltage. I have a sansamp RBI being fed by a BBE Bmax and that signal hits an ART graphic equalizer before hitting the amp. I know.. Nuts. But that's GAS for you.

Derg, that's what I was thinking. The cabs are each 8-ohm cabs with 500 watt ratings (Trace-elliot). We'll have to see if 215 watts each is enough juice to push them. If not, bridged it is.

I really don't like one better than the other as they seem to do very different things. The reason I run the path in the manner listed above is that it takes the eq section out of the BBE (except for the parametric mids) and leaves it I'm tact for the sans amp. Only one eq to mess with makes it...
