    I would suggest looking for a teacher that you really connect with. Some "Good" schools you will study with grad students before you get to study with the main prof. Find a player that you like their playing and you like them personally. good luck

    Double Bass Which is Better?:Mic or Pickup

    I have a humble suggestion. Whether you go with a mic or pickup, really work on developing the tone of the bass. Work on your right hand pulling a big consistent tone. Your amplifying choice can come later.
