Okay, so the Gio GAXB150 came in today and it is not in as bad a shape as I had thought. I removed the stickers and glue residue with orange citrus cleaner and elbow grease. It also turned out that what I had thought was bare wood from a hack “worn/vintage” sandpaper job was really just gold-ish...

Hi I am trying to figure out which model of Gibson SG bass this is. I can’t seem to find a match when I search. The pickup and knob placement seems unusual compared to everything I could find so far. Does anyone recognize this Gibson model?

Looking at the link you shared and the knobs they sell, it seems like you are correct that the pot might be sitting low. Perhaps there is a nut missing that would hold the volume pot up, so a knob would be able to slide over. I will have to wait for the instrument, I guess.

Cool, thanks for the added detail. 6mm splined shaft volume knob. I am in Oregon and would be glad to buy a used one off of you, but can probably find what I need with this.

Hi, I am new to this forum and just restarting on my bass journey. I just did a maybe dumb thing and bought a heavily used Ibanez Gio GAXB150 bass on eBay that is going to need some love. So instead of getting to play it right away (once it arrives), I am going to have another project on hand...
