    Aguilar - Official 'Tone Hammer 500' 3.8lbs 500w Megathread!

2nd gig with the amp 2 weeks ago, paired with my little SVT 210av. Really happy with it so far. Really good sound, and plenty of volume, even with that little cab. I love the parametric mids; very useable. Have it set at about 1:30. Finger funk goodness.

    What about warwick profet 3.3 + wca 211 ?

I use 2 of those cabs together as my tall stack, main 'big gig' rig. I think they're really good sounding, although the highs do get brittle if you're overzealous with the tweeter attenuator. This should be balanced out by the Profet, which tend to be warm for SS amps. I have no problems hearing...

    Aguilar - Official 'Tone Hammer 500' 3.8lbs 500w Megathread!

I got me one of these!!! I've flipped a few amps prior to this one. I think I may have a keeper. Will be able to judge better at the gigs tomorrow and the day after, but digging it so far. I love how the mids are voiced on this amp; let's you be heard without turning up too much and sits well...

Anyone play the Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 or Sl cabs yet?

Announcing its existence and not having them out everywhere is quite cruel, though. ;) I'd love to try one out, and they have em here in Europe, but the price is steep here.

Got my GK MB Fusion today!!!!

Cool! Was hoping the 112s were good standalones as well.

Got my GK MB Fusion today!!!!

Thank you for this. Wanted to get an Aggie TH500, but the Euro price is astronomical. Took the plunge on this head instead. I can't wait to hear it myself.

Yet another guy in Europe who's bummed out by the price. Pity, because I'm almost sure I'll love this amp. Just can't/won't shell out 940 Eu.

G&L L2000/L2K tone controls - think boost not cut

Same here, thanks for the diagram. I'll be sure to try treating the tone controls like boost-onlys on my tribby, but I think I've found a very servicable sound just by rolling off both a tad. Glad it worked out for you!

First GAS of 2011...damn you Lakland.

The jazzes remind me of the discontinued Fender FMTs. The precisions are sex. They do things right at Lakland.

Bobby Watson on MJ's "Rock With You" -- P or Stingray?

Can't help, but one of the most beautiful basslines in pop music. The fills on the second stanza floor me everytime I hear them. So musical.

Why aren't G&L basses more popular?

Love 'em. Trans red is a great color for bass. Love the blackburst L2500 that Chef posted. Somehow the matching headstocks take attention away from the little appendix. :hiding: My Tribute's slowly become my numero uno, gotta wait for the strings to get old to decide though.

    Anyone from Singapore?

Props on the stingray! Not just a great bass. Newton circus has the best. They also used to have good deals on an outlet store of Swee Lee (spell?). Got my thumb for very cheap there.

    Anyone from Singapore?

Not in Singapore right now, but man I wish I were. Love it there, worked as a musician for over a year. You'll love the food and the welcoming people. Pretty much what everyone else said. I bought and used a Warwick Thumb BO there. The neck didn't budge. You shouldn't worry.

    Gorgeous.

Why aren't G&L basses more popular?

I think so too. It still bothers me everytime I look at my tribby's headstock, or see pics of the old G&L headstock... ...until I start playing, then it's all good. :bassist:
