If it helps better peg the origin, tuners say "licensed by Schaller" and bridge has "wilkinson" label. Tuners look like those typical on the Chinese knockoffs. I also thought the fact that the neck pocket was completely painted was unusual.

No worries, I bought it without expectations, but will be more cautious in any future purchases of used instruments.

I actually replaced the pickguard that was white pearloid to a Fender tortoiseshell that came with the cutout. I thought someone would catch that :). It plays fine and tone wise pretty true to the real thing.
