Dhgate sells Mia fender custom shop basses for 300.00 haven't you heard? It's the best deal going. They all have the same serial number but that doesn't matter does it?

I guess it's a good thing I won't be buying a bass anytime soon. I've been on this forum less than a year and even in that time, the number of threads dealing with counterfeits I've seen here is frightening.

Oddly enough, the fellow who did that last week caught flack... yeah, TB gets offended if you put on a fake Fender decal AND if you remove it!!

And this, kids, is why people object to putting Fender decals on headstocks.

It could be that the seller is honest but wrong, or he could have done the minimum of research and just gone with the first thing that seems plausible or close enough. It could be just someone's project parts bass or an intentional fraud. Either way, I'd steer clear unless it just happens to play fantastically and very cheap.

Around here, we see a lot of gear that is clearly being sold by people who aren't musicians but have received the gear in trade (or some other way). They don't know much about it, and they tend to get cagey when asked further questions. Sometimes you get the sense that they were mislead about the value of the gear that they were getting, and aren't too happy about it.

Good catch. I just noticed the same thing. The neck is not associated with Fender or Squier in any way with the fret board extension like that, and how the trussrod access is. The front decal isn't even a good fake!

It's not a Squier. If I had to guess it's one of the basses from guitarfetish.com. They have the square necks and 21 frets like that. With some headstock work and decal changes.

If it's one of the guitarfetish basses. The components are pretty good.
