We couldn't even go ONE DAY without one of these threads! I guess my two week pledge is safe.
Can I get an amen from the chorus?
Amen --- we are doing good works here-- counterfeits are what they are-- I owned a Rolodex Watch from Mexico (made in China) hey for 15.00USD it was better looking than the timex or Casio calculator watch i was wearing at the time.
I can go to any swap meet and get any # of poorly made but functional Counterfeits on the cheap of any product i want. Go to any concert-- there are guys outside selling Logo'd shirts and other Band swag and people are buying it by the truckload...
Counterfeiting, like or not is DRIVEN by "label snobbery" I see BMW and Mercedes hubcaps on Hondas...i believe a fool and his money are soon parted---
If i make up a pearlescent butterfly sticker and stick it on my bass a fedora it does not make.
Counterfeit products have existed as long as the "brand name" has existed-
it is now as it has always been--- buyer beware.
Summary-- fender stickers intended to fool someone-- for shame. Fender headstock sticker for vanity (i pity you)
Fender sticker on a POS you ain't fooling no-one
Everyone needs to get the "world police" mentality out of their heads.... this has been going on longer than we have been alive-- fakery-- it doesn't make it right-- but no amount of "justifiable indignance" is going to make it go away---
E bay tries but how many " Jaco played this bass once and i traded XXX with him for it" scam show up? continually? you cannot stop the RickenFakers, Frenders, the Gibsun les pauls, from being made or sold-- history proves it's here to stay, and that people don't care--- enough.
anyone who REALLY thinks they are getting a Fender custom shop for 300.00 is a fool (or it's a stolen item and they don't care!) you decide where the problem lies.
