Same thing with my Epiphone Jack Casady bass (which I recently sold). While seated, I could angle it upwards so the first fret wasn't so far out there, but standing up, hanging on a strap, that first fret was a long reach indeed because the bridge was so far neckward. Great sound, though...

Yes, the 34" pushes the nut farther away, because the other end of the 34" -- the bridge -- is located so far "forward" towards the neck of the bass. On a P bass, the bridge is back towards the back of the instrument.

Over the long course of this thread, there have been several lists of strings that fit the Mikro. Not quite sure how to find them. Maybe do a search within this thread. My own self, I've used the Mikro brand of strings (which are NOT the stock strings that come on the bass) for rounds, and...
