Best Onboard Bass Preamp for Fender Amer Deluxe Jazz Bass Active

Also the Aguilar OBP-3 can be prewired to any configuration you want from Best Bass Gear, including having an active/passive switch. I have had them prewired for no soldering, with screw terminals for pickups. Only soldering if I remember correctly was ground from the jack.

Best Onboard Bass Preamp for Fender Amer Deluxe Jazz Bass Active

The Jazz pickups are passive. My Favorite Preamp is the John East, great boost on bass, mids, and treble. you can purchase them directly from him overseas for much less than they sell for here in the US. My second choice is the Aguilar OBP3, also very versatile and great boost and cut range.

    Cab improvements

I JUST USE ALL MESA BOOGIE GEAR AND I AM GOOD TO GO. SUBWAY BASS CABINET STACKS AND TT-800 HEADS. MARK V35 FOR GUITARS. NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS AND IMO THEY ARE CERTAINLY ONE OF THE LEADERS IN AMPLIFICATION. I DON'T HAVE TO WASTE MY TIME DOING CARPENTRY WORK, I SPEND IT PLAYING WHICH IS WHAT I LOVE.

It can use the 2 Jazz Pickups together, or the Humbucker alone. Can not use all 3 together, this is how they are wired. Should be a mini-toggle to select the jazz pickups or the humbucker.

2000 Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass Pickups -Original?

Looking for some info on the markings on the bottom of the pickups. Curious to figure out if these are the originals or not. It is a 2000 Bass per the Serial Number. Any info would be appreciated, Thanks.

Mine Above has the ATELIER Z EQ-X2 Preamp and it is great, I like it very much. It is 3 Band EQ, don't think the EQ-M would sound much different.

Fender American Deluxe Precision: what's up with bridge pup?

Another thing to consider is that the size of the bodies of the 90's -2009 American Deluxes were a slightly reduced size compared to the standard P and J body. I personally love these reduced size bodies and have 3 of them.

Bass head + cab for $2,000

I second this, WD and TT Heads are Awesome with Tube Preamps. I use 2 -210 cabinets for gigs and a 112 in the rehearsal studio. All of the Subway cabinets are excellent cabs.

Nickel Plated - need more high end

DR Lo-Rider Nickel Coated Steel are Also Nice. Not quite as Bright as S.S., but are a little warmer, and are still bright, and easier on your fingers. GHS Boomers are also Nickel Coated Steel and are very Bright and Full sounding. Both of these above strings use the stiffer hex core for better...
