I’m trying to decide between Chromes or the Ernie Ball Super Slinky Flatwounds. I’ve heard great things about both but the Chromes are $10 more expensive. Thoughts? And... go!

Question... Does anyone know if the P bass with Jazz neck has less bottom end? I know P Basses are known to have a lower tone but is that because their necks are a little wider than the Jazzz bass?

Yours looks very similar to the one I’m looking at. Is it active? I’m trying to figure out how the control knobs function. The new active PJ basses seem to have a plethora of control functions (which I’m trying to avoid)

Haha yeah it’s not my bass... yet... I want to get it but was hoping it was passive. Just got a Ray34 bass that I might be trying to sell to pick this guy up. I was hoping to get another Passive Bass but the jazz neck and pickup in a P Bass seem pretty sweet to me.

I was listening last week in service and the drums and bass were super low and it made me sad to think that the main rhythm section driving the band was not being represented correctly :(

Haha yeah... nah I want the growl ,) we play contemporary worship music that has some serious rock vibes so I like to have the growl. But you are right. No body notices the bass player except other bass players, maybe the drummer. If you really want people to notice the bass,stop playing it or...

The problem is that the mix in my ear is not the mix of the room so it’s hard to tell if I’m overbearing or getting drowned... one of the main reasons I hate in ear monitors especially when the mix is terrible. Yeah no amps on stage just using a sans amp straight xLR into the board.

That’s true... when playing with other music I guess it gets drowned out but when playing solo it’s pretty loud and especially if I want to record me playing on my phone, you can’t escape that high pitch fan haha
