Was SWR a part of that? If memory serves, their doors were shut in 2006

Now that’s a wall to be proud of! Yeah, we never had any of the Golights in my area, so I never got to try one. We did get that first little digi head that they made, which was great! I would have loved to see that evolve

Unbelievable. Same story with SWR. I guess if you can’t beat ‘em, just kill ‘em?

Yes! That raises another question, actually. As I understand, Genz Benz is now Genzler, correct? So what happened?

Yes!!! Love the old Acoustic amps! Vintage tone glory for days! Never have come across a Sunn amp to try, but I’ve heard great things

    Discontinued amps/cabs

Recently, a thread was started about discontinued basses that we love and miss. I’m curious as to everyone’s same thoughts on amps/cabs. I was a very loyal SWR guy for years, and I miss everything they did (thank God Aguilar came along). Fender’s Bassman series (mid 2000s Indo models) destroyed...

    Signal drop

All right, lads, here’s a question for those of you who are more tech savvy than me. I run a Line 6 G90 rackmount wireless, an IPad w/ x32 app. for IEMs, and a Galaxy Audio AS1100 In ear system. Last gig, the wireless, and iPad were having severe trouble staying in touch, where as the in ears...

    Discontinued Basses- your faves

Yes!!! ‘92 would have been the 1st gen. Those were fantastic, and difficult to find now. My ‘98 was (I believe) the first year for the 2nd gen. The tone, to my ears, is daringly similar to the early 90s EB Stingrays. Love that nasty, funky, greasy sound!

These were absolutely solid. I’m really pissed they only produced them for about 20 minutes . Almost nonexistent now

Yes!!! Yamaha had a similar bass called a BEX4. Loved those!

Thought about it some more and..... Aria Pro 2 SB Elites were killer, and also, the first generation of the Yamaha Nathan East model (early-mid 90s?). I think I like those more than the BBNE2.

    Rednecks, and bass necks

The “asymmetrical” shape has slightly less wood on the treble side, as opposed to the usual C shape, flat C shape, or D shaped necks that are far more common.
