    Peavy C-600 Network Speaker Cabinet

And you think what you want as well, I think enjoying the sound of something is what defines audiophile preference. Those are nice domes in those horns. And you really are just a day ruiner aren't you? Well I hope you can provide me with some mid drivers that sound better for my custom builds...

    Peavy C-600 Network Speaker Cabinet

Huh that sounds interesting. Well the horns are for mid-range not high frequency extension. Sure think what you want but these sound as good if not better than my old jbl's and ess. I used to love them for high volume when i was young and not for quality. But back then in the 90's most...

    Peavy C-600 Network Speaker Cabinet

Well I was thinking that someone might actually blow up speakers by running signal they don't need through them, especially bypassing the resistors. That being said it would be pretty easy to wire it that way. I might change it when I build the new cabinets. I don't plan on bi-amping them...

    Peavy C-600 Network Speaker Cabinet

Actually really nice responsive diaphrams if they were ever dialed in, but they couldn't be at the time. Linkwitz-Riley wasn't really used till the 80's

Here are the cabinets currently. One has a 12", a stupid decision but sounds great with the guitar. Both Soone to be rebuilt again lol

Not at all, those old horns are exceptionally hard to beat if you had a proper crossover. I am now using them as audiophile speakers. They really did sound poopy originally though.

Yeah no that's just 1974 Peavey. The Crossover is absolutely horrible. I have been redesigning mine for years slowly. On to their 4 cabinets soon. I took out the dual 8-ohm woofers and put in a single 4-ohm woofer. As for the crossover. God they messed it up. A 10uf cap is accidentally...

    Best 12" speaker?

Hmmm, interesting info. Yeah I guess it just depends on how you plan on using it and what kind of cabinet setup you have. I definitely have to boost EQ on the ends but I don't mind as long as I can get the speaker level all throughout the spectrum. Problem with all of those is they don't...

    Best 12" speaker?

I know this is an old thread but for the sake of the future. I have been working on a similar project and what I am struggling with is getting low frequency response with the ability to handle it (most are just paper cones to tiny paper surrounds and they will rip when deep bass hits) as well...
