    If it holds sentimental value to your friend at all I'd say give it back and work out another form of payment. If they're going to sell it anyways I'd say sell it and split the money over what they owed you so it works out for everyone involved

    Paint my Dingwall: vote!

    Is that the actual grain or a stock version of the bass. Maybe ask to see the body grain before deciding to paint over it if it's especially nice I'd keep it natural but otherwise aqua blue is my vote

    Securing your pedal settings?

    If you want a set it and forget it method. Set the knob to the position you want. Take the knob off and place it back on with the indicator at noon. This way to get back to your favorite setting you just make sure all your knobs are at noon.
