For Sale/Trade Sukop Spalted Maple Beauty

Well since I put this bass on the classifieds, I have played it a few times. I'm having second thoughts about selling it. This is such a great instrument. I am going to wait to sell this for a period of time to see if I play it more.

    Tuners

Wow thanks! That is just what I was looking for. Is there any interest by others to have small tuners or am I the only one out there?

    Stainless Steel nut

Wow thanks for all the advise. Dr. J is amazing. Very good to know about the metallurgy of the nickel-silver. I was thinking of making a zero fret since it simplifies the nut making process a little. Maybe I'll go with the 6016 aluminum and 304 stainless. The last one I made was with a...

    Tuners

I'm looking for machine heads that have a small key. I'm aware of the Gotoh and Schallers that have the smallest keys I have seen. Well ok, what I really want is a smaller machine head altogether, like the Stealth Keys by Gotoh properly sized and made for a bass. I think they have to make a...

    Stainless Steel nut

I looked up the Dalenectro nut and it is aluminum (I think). I made one out of aluminum before and they look great. Yet I know they won't hold up as well over time as stainless. I think stainless requires diamond files. I'm sure I could machine one out of stock using a mill. However, I'm...

    Stainless Steel nut

Hey does anyone know where I can get a stainless steel nut? I've done some web surfing and not coming up with any resource. Thanks for your help.

    small machine heads

Does anyone know if ultra small machine heads are made for the bass like the Stealth Keys that Gotoh makes? They must use a double envelop worm gear to be able to reduce the size of the machine head. However, I don't see where Gotoh has started making ones for the bass. If you have any...

    problem with bridge!!

I've tried to find smaller bridges for a bass I want to make with narrow string spacings but only have found a Hofner. The Hofner style is sort of cool, though, using frets and fret slots on wood. I don't know what it would sound like on a solid body, though.

How do you combat Neck Dive?

I have a device that balances a bass. I'm looking for folks who are interested in providing input. The current version replaces the bolt-on neck plate and has an adjustable rod that slides behind the neck. The shoulder strap attaches to the strap pin on the end of the rod. I have three...

    Choosing a bass ( help )

Maybe you are set on having a 5 string. However if you are willing to consider this as a transitional instrument allowing for recovery time maybe you could considered a Hofner style?

    Band Saw Recommendations?

We have a Grizzly G0555LX with a 14" throat. It works great for cutting out bodies. We have not used it for resaw yet but do plan on using it for this. We have a Timberwolf blade (3/4" x three TPI).

Is it worth buying a Epiphone Thunderbird?

I have made a device that helps with neck dive and posted this in the luthier's forum. A comment was made that maybe those who have Thunderbirds would be interested in giving input as well. The device called "The Comfort Rod" replaces the bolt-on neck plate. A retractable and positionable...
