For now I’m using the stock strings with a foam mute. I like the sustain of rounds but even with the mute and EQ tricks they just don’t sound like flats ( though yeah I suppose the audience doesn’t care ). What flats have you Mikro players used that had good thump AND good sustain ? thanks

I have a set of medium scale Tru Bass 88 strings ( removed from a Hofner ). I want to put them on a Gretsch Jet Jr, which calls for short scale strings. Would it be better to do the wrap around the post thing, or cut away some of the wrapping ? thanks !

If it was a Beatles band outside of Rocket Fizz it was me ! Dark walnut Mikro through a GK amp. I haven't even changed the stock strings yet.

I have a Chinese Hofner. Currently strung with TruBass 88s. Would a compression pedal fix the dead spots –-- help with the sustain ? Thanks !
