my bass is fender mim jazz bass using fender jazz bass 45-105 string the sixth fret on G string sustains extremely weak but the rest are fine whats wrong with my bass

beside the volume, is there any other different outcome between adjusting those two things? such as tone etc

i noticed that the sound volume or intensity of the strings is not well balanced. i wonder that adjusting the pick up height or string action which one can deal with the problem i have metioned, and what is the different outcome of adjusting those two things, thanks
