    Fender Rumble Club

So this beauty came yesterday, 500 combo and 115 cab. Straight into the practice room last night. Love it. Didn't get to play around with it too much, but quickly found a setting I liked (vintage + a touch of overdrive is delightful). Looking forward to having a play this weekend

    New Rig-Ohms, Watts... Arghhhhh!

Had a word with the missus (begged) and she's happy (unhappy) to let me take £500 from the wedding budget. So that leaves me with a couple of options really. 1. Go for a new lighter cab, probably barefaced. Need to give them a ring. 2. Get a combo that'll work with my current cab for gigs...

Will keep my eye out, thank you.

Yeah the Firebass is a cracker. 10 years, 1000 gigs & a few trips down the stairs, and nothing but 1 blown fuse! Definitely considering the new cab route. Thank you.

Haha it's seriously tempting! My savings account has never looked so healthy. Knowing it's to be spent on chair covers & a 3 course meal for 80 relatives/friends is a real kick in the teeth!!!

Thank you. Someone mentioned about giving Barefaced a ring. I'all do that tomorrow. Seems like the logical option and may improve my tone slightly(?). I could keep the peavey 115, given it works out ohms wise, for emergency, big venue with no PA support, situations. Thanks.

Thanks. How is the new Peavey gear rated? I know the older amps (like the firebass) were generally known for lack of tone, but complete workhorses.

Thanks. I'll do some searching on the TC gear. I think the place I'm going tomorrow has one of the TC heads on the website.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately original bands get paid very little (if anything) here in England :( To be honest, even though the head weighs more, the cabs more of an issue (a mix of the weight & size). I may look into lightweight cabs that could safely handle the 700w head. Tone...

Could I ask what the setup is & what size venues you're using it for regularly? Thank you.

I was originally looking at combos. They sell the GK MB212 & 210's. This is what initially caught my eye & at 17kg I could do the trip (with guitar) in a oner. Invalid Link Removed After searching around here I went off the combo idea. Don't know why. Thank you.

Also worth mentioning, I love the sound I get from my current set up with the 115, but I'm open to trying 10's or 12's. The store I'm going to is huge so will probably just make a day of it and try everything :D Thank you.

I was just thinking this & checking what the store has in. Unfortunately they don't seem to have anything that fits the bill. In fact there seems to be 0 115's @ 4 ohms :( Thank you.

Yeah I did have a look but the 21kg put me off. Still be much lighter than my peavey 115 though. Just for an example, what would be the problem with getting the Markbass Traveller 102P (400w @ 4 ohms) compared to the 2 SVT-210's? Thank you.

Thank you. Going to go test the Warwick LWA 500 & Ampeg PF500 tomorrow.
