And disagree I will. Any bass without a bridge pickup !? That's redic.. slapped P bass is iconic. Plenty of love out there for slappin P's. I've heard decent sounding slap on short scale basses too. It's tone... It's just a matter of opinion.

Jamming with others is great and will definitely have a positive effect on your playing. But It won't teach you the fundamentals of music and how to apply it on bass.. The best way learn this, IMO, is with a good teacher and regular practice routine. So in short, I think both are important.

Wording of the question is strange.... In E minor the 4th is A. It isn't called a minor 4th, it is a perfect 4th. (Most likely the answer to your question). Unless your after the fourth note in an E minor pentatonic scale, which is B.
