I’ve had success the past few years just using a flat washer between the rubber and the metal collar. The rubber end no longer unscrews on its own but is as easy to remove when I want to use the spike.

Agree with the post above. Could be a couple things though. Is your bridge leaning forward or back? Is the nut extended past the base of the scroll? Are you placing your thumb all the way down on the heel of the neck or are you letting it stop where the curve begins? Is your first finger...

You could try threading the D string so that it's coming out the bottom side of your tailpiece instead of the top. This helps a little by adding just a bit more tension to the string. Leave the other strings as they are. It probably won't completely solve the problem but usually helps...
