Interesting, thank you! I'll look into that.

Club RickenFaker / FakenBacker - Show Your Fake Rics!

I recently picked up this 4004LK knockoff. The fit and finish is fairly poor but fundamentally it worked and seemed structurally decent with a nice neck and working truss rod. The main issues were the appalling mini humbucker shaped pickups that barely picked up the E and G strings and the...

Pickguard poll for Vintage Tobacco Burst Stingray Special

I voted black, but black pearl might look nice too.

NBD - Revelation RBN Jazz with unusual pickups

Well, they definitely look home made and crammed into an empty MM shell as someone suggested. It's nice to see something a little different and I think whoever made them succeeded.

NBD - Revelation RBN Jazz with unusual pickups

Thanks for the comments everyone! The bass really was quite a looker in its original form. I've seen various other Revelation models before but never this one. When it comes to the pickups, them being MM shaped was a big reason for picking the bass up because of the possibilities. But they are...

NBD - Revelation RBN Jazz with unusual pickups

Update: I resoldered a couple of wires and tightened up all the knobs and it works fine now. It seems to be set up with normal VVT controls and the fourth knob is just a push-pull pot set up as a kill switch, unless I'm missing something. The pickups are definitely single coil as they hum when...

NBD - Revelation RBN Jazz with unusual pickups

I found this Revelation RBN on a UK pawnbroker website, a model I hadn't seen before. It was pretty cheap and I like Jazz Basses - but I had to find out what's going on with those pickups. I've never seen anything like them. The body has sanded down and battered to make it look reliced (making...

    Sire Bass Club!

I think it's lovely but I'm probably biased as it's one of my favourite colours! I've seen some people say they notice the feel of the grain when playing but it doesn't bother me.

    Sire Bass Club!

I've got a 5-string V6 in the candy apple red finish, which is looks different but good on the sandblasted top. It feels good to play and sounds great, and it's pretty light for a 5-string Jazz too.

Bronco Bass modders - post your basses!

I like mine a lot! It has a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails, a Fender hi-mass bridge and a pearl pickguard.

    Sire Z3/Z7 (2nd generation)

I have a few Sires and they're all well built. However when I bought a new silver sparkle Z3 a couple of weeks ago it had a truss rod opening that was way off centre and at a strange angle. It doesn't sound like a huge issue but with that particular finish it was very noticeable even with the...

    NBD: Sire Marcus Miller P5R

I bought a used vintage white one of these back in November and within a few seconds of holding that neck I understood the appreciation for Sire! Since then I picked up a V3 and a V6 5-string too and absolutely adore them.

Well, here's something you don't see every day.

I have a fascination with double neck basses even though they are very niche and usually impractical. If I wasn't in the UK I would genuinely be very tempted!

Show us your jazz PARTS basses!

Hi there, It's a full 34" scale. I'm not sure which model the Jaguar neck is from but it's a Jazz style neck in every way other than the name on it. The controls are stacked volume and tone for each pickup like the very first Jazz Basses and some reissues have, like the Flea Jazz Bass. It...

Show us your jazz PARTS basses!

This is a Squier Affinity body and a Squier Jaguar neck. It's got Fender Pure Vintage 66 pickups and stacked knob wiring. It came out pretty well and I like it a lot!
