Yes, and Yes. Active button is engaged. I also tried the XLR output direct to my amp. There is no level control and very little drive effect. Thank you. I have emailed Tech21 for and RAN to return for repair.

I'm running my dbx266xs 1st then into the RBI input 2 on the back of the RBI, then output direct to my GK 150MB instrument input. Always use compression before before distortion/flange/wah, etc. My 2-cents.

I bought my RBI online from an Ebay seller. It has the same issue as the OP, no level control and no to very little change when using the drive control. I have yet to use an XLR cable (need to buy one), so I will hold out returning it until I try that route. BTW, this unit is fairly basic and...
