Do you encourage the next generation by your enthusiasm for bass

I am a person who used to sing in a band and always wanted to play bass or guitar.I now am in a position to afford both to play as a hobby but my son is a natural and I find myself buying more gear to challenge him as well as play with on my own.
My son has access to instruments and anps that I could only dream of as a kid.
Am I the only one here
