    Band rehearsal with a metronome?

In my area, drummers are like unicorns. Once you snag one, you gotta hold on and hope he plays well. I was lucky enough to get a good one.

    Band rehearsal with a metronome?

Our drummer always plays to a click. It really ties everything together and makes it more consistent.

Prefer to play with fingers, but like a picked sound better

I've made some progress on this. I put lighter strings on, Daddario regular lights. My band plays a step down so a little less tension makes it easier to make the strings impact the board. I was also able to lower the action a bit. I moved my compressor so that it comes after my B7K. This makes...

Prefer to play with fingers, but like a picked sound better

I'm in a bit of a pickle with my playing. Its more fun to play with my fingers but I like the tone of a pick better. I've been playing for about 15 years and have switched back and forth a few times because I cant decide. I love that abrasive, metallic attack I get with a pick when running...

This one is for the unlined fretless players...

I started on a lined fretless then got one with a blank board because I like the look better. The side fret markers can help if you get a little lost and the rest is pretty easy. Just listen when you play and correct your pitch as needed, but make it seem like you were doing a sweet slide into...

Just got a B7K, looking for help understanding it

Thanks for the help! For some reason I just assumed the saturation switches went from lowest to highest. All of my other pedals are at my band practice spot. A little compression and whatnot will probably help me get where I want to be. Another thing I've read is that it really shines in a mix...

Just got a B7K, looking for help understanding it

What I'd like to understand better is the inner workings of the pedal, namely the switches. The middle position of the treble switch has way more attack than the up position which seems strange to me. Also, I'm watching youtube vids of people demo-ing it and their tone is waaaaay better sounding...

    Long time lurker here

Hey! I'm Joe, a guitarist-turned-bassist. I've been frequenting talkbass for years and figured I'd finally join in on the discussion. I have been playing guitar for about 15 years and bass for 8ish, but only seriously for 4 years. I love, love LOVE fretless basses. Both of mine are fretless, one...
