Like I say this is my first rig so I can't say whether or not the cab I have is better, but I've also heard Peavey cabs are well built. It's not likely you can try out any cabs in gig situations before buying it so I'd say go for what you think will last.

I played my first gig the other week with a Laney RB9 through the 'recommended' RB410. For gigs on a budget I'd say go for it, this is my first move away from a combo and I love it.

I'll soon be buying the EMG BTC Control for my bass, simply because I already have an EMG pickup so I can get the solderless installation done myself. I have very little wiring experience and don't want to risk anything or pay someone else to do it for me.
