Fender Pure Vintage 60 vs 63 vs Duncan SPB-1 and SPB-2:Hot

Great reply, but as I said in the OP, I have a disability (cerebral palsy) that prevents me from "digging in". I have to play the cards I'm dealt. 😉 God bless, Ray

Fender Pure Vintage 60 vs 63 vs Duncan SPB-1 and SPB-2:Hot

I tried the Labella version of low tension flats. Had to move the truss rod a bunch to get even a medium action. Actually kind of scary. Do you think the TI version would be that much different? Bass has standard tension Labella flats now. God bless, Ray

Fender Pure Vintage 60 vs 63 vs Duncan SPB-1 and SPB-2:Hot

I have a Fender Road Worn P bass that I'm having to shield with copper and I thought I would possibly try a different pickup set. I don't know the quality of the pots and input jack, so I'd replace them if they are substandard. I prefer a warmer tone, but I want definition too. I play early...

The manual only gives generic specs. I was hoping for real world experiences when it comes to 9v vs 18v. I'm not experienced enough with modern equipment to know offhand the difference. I did order my board power supply too, so now I can know for myself. God Bless, Ray

Looking into the Magellan preamp and I have a couple questions: What's the difference in 9v vs 18v power ? I'd need a power supply. I'll be upgrading my board power supply next month, but want to use as soon as I can. Is the Magellan warm like the Streamliner ? God Bless, Ray

Hartke LH1000 issues and repair refusals

First move we made after changing cables and isolating cabs was to replace the tube with a Mesa. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try a few other ideas, but I will report back. God Bless, Ray

Hartke LH1000 issues and repair refusals

I may call Hartke tomorrow. I don't really want to out the tech as doing something.bad if he's telling the truth. If anything, I'd discuss what happened with the head. Retails for $779.00 now.😁 God Bless, Ray

Hartke LH1000 issues and repair refusals

I don't necessarily believe it to be endemic. I may well be able to replace it with another LH1000 and get many more years of use. My old USA made Peavey lasted over 20 years before it got to the point of replacing it being the best solution above repair. I guess I'm old school enough to be...

Hartke LH1000 issues and repair refusals

I don't necessarily disagree with the tech at all. HOWEVER, my position is, in my opinion, this head has an issue serious enough for it to be unusable within 3 years. I don't want to invest 300 in a used one with a possible failure at any time. I don't want to invest the nearly $800.00 into...

Hartke LH1000 issues and repair refusals

Both were authorized Hartke repair centers. Although the guy who said to buy used said Samson Hartke about a dozen times. LOL 1. Amp has never been above 4 on the volume. Bridged it's pretty loud. 2. Swapped cables, connected each cab independently. Same issue. Haven't tried not playing. Will...

Hartke LH1000 issues and repair refusals

Okie dokie, I'm at a bit of a conundrum. A few years ago (3 IIRC) I got a Hartke stack. LH1000/HD-410/HD-115. Recently I began to get a serious buzz after about 15 minutes of warm up. Turn off, cool down, works fine for 15 minutes before buzzing again. Here's the strange part; I look up...

Recommendation Pickup for Road Worn Fender Precision with less high end and more even midrange

I tried the Labella low tension flats and found them to be too floppy. LOL I can only assume the TI's are similar in tension. God Bless, Ray

Recommendation Pickup for Road Worn Fender Precision with less high end and more even midrange

I've got a set of LaBella flats on it. Really going for the early rock 50's and 60's era.
