Both are awesome preamps, but I like the features (and tone) of the John East's (especially, the Uni-Pre).
The one facing the camera has an Audere. The one facing the other direction has a John East.
Another fun weekend. Killer tone as always but I wouldn’t mind trying the Kinetix into a BA410 series 2. Maybe one day!
They’re both exceptional but I’ve found my preference leans more towards the Audere. The John East imparts a tone that sometimes works really well and sometimes doesn’t sit right for me. The Audere is just the bass, but more (if that makes sense?) and it works every time.
Ive yet to have a gig warranting using both of these at once, but does anyone run this rig? The 112 and 115 bass array cabs? Or is it most recommended to run the 210 with the 115? I like the way this sounds in my room but no experience running it out side of that.
What i really want is to stick an BA 212 with my Genz Benz Uber Bass 2x12. I've heard that Genzler amps can drive 2 Genzler 4 ohms cabs. I wonder if that also applies to a 4 ohm Genz benz and a 4 ohm Genzler.
I'd check with Jeff and Agedhorse on that one. In my conversations about running 2 MG212(4ohm) cabs together with them I was cleared on my models being driven by the Mag800. I know my Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 won't do it(only goes down to 4ohm), so I'm not sure if the the older Genz Benz cabs avoid nominal areas if impedance like the newer Magellan cabs do.
Last summer I ordered some Genzler badges to make up some custom fabric amp grills and had 2 left over so I threw em on my econo-boxes for easier parking lot identification. (There are a lot of grey Altimas and Civics let me tell you)
I'm sure there are a few bassists in the pnw who might have noticed me driving by! I don't mind advertising my fav gear brand while confusing others.

Any flavor of the BA cabs should work well with one another….I’d give what you have a shot. I’m sure you’ll be well pleased.

Looking into the Magellan preamp and I have a couple questions: What's the difference in 9v vs 18v power ? I'd need a power supply. I'll be upgrading my board power supply next month, but want to use as soon as I can.
Is the Magellan warm like the Streamliner

The Magellan on the A voicing (Blue) can be pretty "cold" which you can warm up with a bit of contour it will cut out abit of those harsher mid frequencies and make a nice modern sound, and it will warmup a whole lot by putting it on the B voicing (green or orange I forget, I'm also colorblind so that doesn't help) and adding abit of contour in that voicing, will give it a subtle bump in some mids that make for e a nice warm old school tone.
The best thing about the Magellan preamp is that unlike on the amp head, it has contour knob for each voicing, so you can dial in your preferred mid cut in the A voicing and your preferred mid bump in the B voicing and just switch back and forth, rather than having to readjust the knob when switching back and forth from each voicing. The Magellan Pre is one of the best pedal pres on the market in my opinion, super versatile for both active pristine sounds and old school warms tones.

The manual only gives generic specs. I was hoping for real world experiences when it comes to 9v vs 18v. I'm not experienced enough with modern equipment to know offhand the difference. I did order my board power supply too, so now I can know for myself.

They aren’t generic specs, the numerical data is in the spec section, but for most players the descriptive comments will be more useful. The differences depend on your bass, the drive level needed for the power amp being used, etc.
Hey everyone, just saw this on Genzler Amplification FB page and the NC-115T is advertised with a 15" LaVoce speaker. The Genzler website mentions “Advanced Ferrite/Ceramic Loudspeakers”, no mention for Lavoce… my understanding is that the speakers are designed by Genzler. I might be wrong.
Wondering if the NC-112T comes with a LaVoce as well. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks for your interest in the NC CABS. I can confirm that we only use the LaVoce in the 15" cab, while the other NC cabs use Eminence/B& C speakers we designed for the 12" and 10"cabs.
As stated the 15" is a hidden gem among 15" ceramic magnet cabs, and among the lightest and most powerful.
