CostyoUbass: Thanks for sharing your experiences with the thunder red, it is interesting. That said, I don´t think we can judge their tone from tuning a B string to E, can we?

I really like the ubass much better. The Ashbory seems to glide from out of tune to in tune in miliseconds (ooOOOamp...) wich sounds funny, but quite limitated. Today, after a long time spent testing thunderguts and silverrumbles, I decided to try back to original pahoehoes. All of a sudden...

Ok, but what if I want to bite the bullet, and buy a "short bass one" set of strings? Do I have to buy the short bass one stuck to them? :P I can´t find the short bass one strings to buy anywhere in their page...

Thanks for your review davewave, it is very nice to get opinions from somebody who actually has played the thing, instead of that from somebody who just has looked to the pictures... ;) Maybe I was fooled by the white strings? According to what you said, seems to be a really interesting option.

I like Ohana ukes quite a lot. But this one looks like a baritone uke forced to become a ubass. I might be wrong, but strings look really close together in the nut, and very close to the edge near the body... :( Also I can´t find any info about it anywhere in the Ohana web page

I also hope Mimmo is ok. And I´m also a very impatient boy (just in my 40´s :D)

In my opinion, Aquila is now enjoying the lovely situation where you design a product (Short Bass One) and then ask for it to be made in China. Enough said, but I can imagine how hard can be work in your original product, when you are having so much fun... ;) Anyway the E Aquila red string in...

Funny, you kind of crucified these poor thunderguts... Seems like you don´t enjoy their tone very much ;)

The nut and also the compensated saddle... Not doing so would left you with an uncompensated saddle, pretty odd in my opinion
