Hi all! I've had my Ibanez GSR206 since January, and I love it to pieces! Lately though, I've noticed how bad the neck dive is. I used to ignore it, but my left arm technique has started to suffer, and I cannot ignore it any longer.
I've been thinking about making it a headless for a little...
Imagine this; A short scale, "tenor bass" (tuned adgc), with an octave and distortion pedal for the lower end.
Anyone see this as a bad idea? When might a it be appropriate or inappropriate? Anyonehave similar ideas?
So, I've been experimenting with different tunings in my head for months! One of these tunings just won't seem to go away. It's similar to Victor Griffin's drop-B tuning: (low to high) B A D G B E, but it would be on a 5 sting bass, so B A D G C. Is this a practical tuning? Anyone know if it has...
I need help finding a new bass. Something light weight, under $500, and full 34" scale. 24 frets would be nice, but isn't a necessity. I've checked out Epiphone's Ignition Violin and Club basses, but I'm not a fan of the 30" scale. Solid body, or semi hollow are okay. What would you recommend?
Hey all! I I'm going to be getting a TC Electronics Dark Matter Distortion pedal soon, and I was wondering where it should go with my other two pedals, (An mxr compressor, and a Danelectro Milkshake chorus). I don't know what order the pedals should be in, and I can't seem to find any charts or...
Curiosity got the best of me and I turned down with my Thunderguts. It isn't too bad actually. The B is floppy, but not bad by any means. And G string (Now tuned D) doesn't look like it will snap any second. I would recommend doing.
I was wondering if there are any bass guitars with necks that are wider at the nut, and get more narrow as you go to the bridge? Like reverse of regular necks/string spacing. Anyone know of any basses like this? Pros or Cons?
