Exactly. But the sad thing is that there will be people who choose tuner X only because the manufacturer claimed it is 0.02 cents accuracy. "Wow! It is much better than crappy tuner Y which offers only 0.5 cents resolution!" :)

:D In short, my points are: 1) for bass tuning you do not need a tuner with high resolution. 1 cent is already enough. If you are piccolo-flutist then look for 0.1 cent tuner. 2) be precise: do not say "I need 0.02 cents accuracy" when you want to say "a strobe tuning mode is better for me"

This. Your tuner does not show you 'cents' at all but you are happy tuning with it. Then why do you need 0.02 cents accuracy?

Can you show how you do it? I mean you pluck the string, and your tuner shows you steady, say, +0.08 cents. Then you turn your tuner peg and approach a steady 0.00? And then, you can pluck the string 5 more times and all 5 times the readings will be exactly 0.00? No way. Your readings will jump...

Claiming 0.02 cents accuracy on the website may be correct actually. They just did not specify how fast you will see it in strobe mode. We could also claim 0.01 cents accuracy for Airyware for example, and yes, if you sit for half an hour at the screen you will notice a strobe bars drifting :)...

There are many high quality strobe tuner apps available for iOS, Android, and Windows. Why not to check against them? Some are completely free or have free trial.

It will work for humbucking (double coil) and for split-coil pickups, but yes, it will not work for single-coil pickups.

I think it should be very easy to confirm/reject the assumption about high magnetic force causing the buzz. If you attach a wide metal knife on top of the pickup it will 'shortcut' the magnetic field so there will be no more pull for the strings and thus should be no buzz, right?

Yes, it looks like the peak is around 1300 Hz and it is not changing for the note you play. It means it is not a fret buzz nor harmonic buzz. Probably there is something resonating at ~1300. Could it be a part of the string between a nut and a tuning machine?

That's mostly a marketing stuff. You'll never need a resolution of 0.02 cent. For example, having two basses playing their low E in unison you'll hear a one single beat every 17 minutes when strings are tuned to 41.20344461 Hz and 41.20392062 Hz, which is exactly 0.02 cents apart.
