Agreed! We've always used a click. Proper time shouldn't hinder the ability to improvise, I don't think. A loop (pre-programmed tracks or instrumentation) definitely would!

I'm using Sensaphonics in-ears. Highly recommended, but pricey. Other guys in the band use LiveWires, Ultimate Ears, 1964, and FutureSonics. All are great.

I use a Sadowsky preamp/DI before my Streamliner. It adds just a touch of character that complements the Streamliner well. I bump the Bass/Treble just a bit on the Sadowsky which gives the tone some very subtle transparency/enhancement. The Sadowsky is a pretty minimal pre.

Emprov-- You'll get a ton of different responses, I'm sure -- but I use Sensaphonics ears. Best sound I've ever heard! May be more than you want to spend though. I had a pair of LiveWires before that (which is another $200-300 brand). The guys in the other bands at church use Westones...

Ha -- well, I'm coming from an SWR Bass 750, so I'm saving about 30lbs on that rack! I love that I can take the Streamliner out and fit it in my backpack for rehearsals, recording, etc, too. Not trying to hi-jack the thread, but I'm really curious about what heads all you folks are switching...

Finally got a pic of the new Streamliner 900 in action! Really loving this head. Running my passive Lakland through my Sadowsky DI/pre, then to the head. Been backing off the low end significantly...It sounds killer! And seriously loving 6.5lbs!
