    Update on my Fender Meteora

It took me a while to notice that the neck pickup was a lot lower than the bridge pup. Bringing it up increased my low end presence a whole level of magnitude, giving me a tremendous range of low end to work with! really pleased!

    Westone earbud case thingy

Bought a pair of WT earbuds. The come with a nice case. The case has a removable plastic screw that exposes brass threads and an o-ring. Anyone knows what it is for? I sent an email to Westone a week ago but no answer from them.

Built a drum riser for my band

Here's a link to a video we shot last night with the riser. It brings the drummer's head even with ours and adds more visual movement to the stage performance. Our guest singer allows us to do GnR.

Nicer Alternative To Squier Bronco Bass?

I bought my Bronco for $75 on CL. The Bronco does offer great modding possibilities being that Stratocaster pickups fit in the opening. I have installed a McNelly pup in mine but I want to try a blade and a Fender Sensor. On the other hand, I do like a 2 pickup format but I did choose a Bronco...

    Fender Player Meteora Bass

I understand your point however I have to believe that Fender applies a quality control program like ISO across all their plants. I WOULD whole heartily agree with you on Chinese made instruments. The most significant improvement in quality for the Meteora, IMO, is the High Mass Bridge. I...

    Fender Player Meteora Bass

I've had mine for 3 weeks now. I love the build quality. Set up was great. String height was perfect for me. Intonated perfectly. NO neck dive. Comfortable at 9 pounds. Played a 3 hours gig with no breaks. Comfortable. Tone is awesome. A very broad spectrum and very well balanced IMO. It really...

Built a drum riser for my band

Unlike lead singers and lead guitarists, who are busy fighting off the groupies, bassists like me have time for projects. I feel sorry for drummer's. They sit in the back, blocked from being seen by the audience by the guitar players. Unable to see the audience and the adoration of the masses...

NBD! Fender METEORA in Opal Spark

I love the single pickup blend control. Much easier than adjusting 2 separate volume knobs and the midway detent lets me know where the blend is. Same with the EQ control (also with midway detent). I can set my treble and bass boosts and use the EQ knob to make a quick EQ adjust. Together the...

NBD! Fender METEORA in Opal Spark

I am absolutely in bass heaven! This one checked all the boxes for me. My first 18V Active circuitry and the tone variation is fantastic, even better (IMO) than my active Fender Jaguar. QUIET! 38MM Nut. Rolled edges. High Mass Bridge. Alder body. Maple neck with Pau Ferro fretboard. Very good...

What is important for you in a bass?

When I conceived this poll, I used the maximum number of options it would allow. I had to leave a few off and there were some I didn't think of but I based it on what I was reading in people's posts over the years. I was most surprised by weight as a top 3! I thought cost would have been 3rd...

What is important for you in a bass?

Reading posts about basses that are posted. People have diverse reactions to the characteristics of a bass. I was curious so I'm asking you what is important to you? Top 3.

    Fender Player Meteora Bass

I just ordered one. Opal sparkle with Pao Ferro fretboard. I was leaning towards the maple neck but the Pao Ferro sounded better to me. It might just replace my MIJ Jaguar Deluxe II! It sounded great either passive or active!

Overlap on body wood. How much is enough?

It would be advantageous to be able to not have to offset the center joint. Not having done this, I appreciate the benefit of everyone's experience. So, as long as I properly prepare the joints where the edges meet, I can join all the pieces at one time, clamping them properly? (Widths have...

Overlap on body wood. How much is enough?

I mean 2 pieces for a top and 2 for a back, to form a body blank.
