    I found going to Spiro Weich 3/4, and sticking with that, has been the solution after many combinations of different string combinations $$$. Having said that each bass is different , and it depends what your looking for in sound and also the music you are producing.

    After trying various string combinations, the last Perp. Stark. The Peter Infeld g-d-a with 3/4 weich e Spiro., is really sounding great for Arco, I am going to stick with this combo for the foreseeable future, until the next temptation comes along..

    Have you tried Temps. with a Spiro E? That could help the low end...or E&A ? Did you consider Perpetuals?

    You could try the S42 W on G D A and add 385 W on the E. A combination, I am using on one of mine. This gives you some relief but with some of the power with the bigger E.

    I think staying with a full set, either Spiro or Perpetual, or any other string brand would be beneficial in short and probably the long run..

    The cleaner-polish kit by Kolstein is good, and will do the trick! I use it maybe once a year, but always try to wipe off any thing that doesn't belong there...

    It looks like the Trickfish, joins the list along with Fuchs amps as the new go to since the loss of Acoustic Image and EA for upright. Would be great to get a comparison and of the two..
