So I've got this SVT810E sitting on my apartment floor...

So the conclusion of this is.....much like everyone said. Just sell the damn thing. I was asked to backline a show and just couldn't be bothered to bring the 810. So I hit Craigslist for 3 days hoping to come across a decent 410 in the 400-500 range. I ended up finding a Hartke 4.5XL (which I...

Best practice amp for 200-300 $$??

+1 for HoTone paired with a 210 or 410. However, it's only 5 to 15 watts depending on how current the model is so I'm not sure how it is going to hold up in louder jams. Neat practice amp though. I use the Mojo Diamond at home for guitar, but it handles a P-Bass pretty well too. Plus the...

So I've got this SVT810E sitting on my apartment floor...

There is a furniture store near my place that sells beer fridges for cheap. Usually my beer on top of or beside the 810 is fine, but how will unopened beers inside the "fridge" be affected?

Dark times. Soon we'll all be using 210 combos. Sure they sound great, but where is the intimidation factor?

Replacing the Trace Elliot 1510X speakers

A on A is brighter and has more character. A on E would normally be warmer in a sense, but it sounds "flat" and does not mix as well with the rest of the band

Replacing the Trace Elliot 1510X speakers

Personal opinion maybe? I've been happy with my 800RB/American Standard J-Bass tone through GK 115s, Ampeg 810s, Mark Bass 410s, and even random 210s. I should sit in front of the TE 1510X and write down/post everything I dislike as I play. It's just overall dissatisfaction. My best...

So I've got this SVT810E sitting on my apartment floor...

haha I know that feeling. The 810 doubles as a laptop table for me. Selling the 810 right now would net me $400-500 if I could find a buyer. 410s run $300-500 used on Vancouver CL. I'd gain $100-200 and a 410. The $100-200 plus money I'd spend customizing the 810 into an all in one home...

So I've got this SVT810E sitting on my apartment floor...

haha I mean the 4x10 in a new cabinet as being easy to bring to shows. The 810 cab, no matter how many speakers it is holding, would stay in my apartment. Which is why I'm thinking about converting it to a practice 410 (top) and 210 guitar cab (bottom). Or as it sits on the floor....bass on the...

So I've got this SVT810E sitting on my apartment floor...

Definitely looking to avoid cutting it up in case I ever need to put the 4 10s back in. In a perfect world, I'd just replace the bottom 10s with high frequency range 10s and adjust wiring.

Replacing the Trace Elliot 1510X speakers

Definitely feels like the research is endless and I have yet to meet someone in town (Vancouver) that can point me in the right direction. Searching this forum has already been a massive help. I feel like no matter how much I read, there will still be an element of trial and error as I try to...

So I've got this SVT810E sitting on my apartment floor...

Obviously in my 20s, I thought an 810 was the only way to go. Fast forward 7 or so years and the value/saleability has dropped hard. I just can't bring myself to part with it for under $500 CAD; so it has become my practice amp in my apartment. Thank you Concrete walls. With only 4 out of the...

Replacing the Trace Elliot 1510X speakers

I've got a trace elliot 1510X bass cab (horn and port) that I've never been happy with. After years of hauling around an 8x10, I wanted something smaller and really liked how a friend's GK 15 sounded. When a friend of a friend was moving out of town, I picked up his 1510X for $160 hoping I could...
